Sean hated the frustration of waking up. It gave him such trouble just to open his eyes and get out of bed. Yeah, he loved to stay up late, but he didn't like missing out on any activities during the day. Nothing new ever happened in his town, except for the birth of a baby with something (mutation) new. Watching the small rays of light shining through his window, he urged himself to sit up and toss his feet off the edge of the bed. "Sean, are you coming down for breakfast?" Glancing to the door, he jumped at the sound of his mothers voice. It wasn't like her to cook breakfast. Actually, it wasn't like her to be up this early. Questioning his mother's behavior, Sean pushed himself up off the bed and walked over to his dresser. He pulled out the second drawer and shuffled around in it looking for a pair of shorts to wear today. Finding a decent pair, he slid them on. Closing the drawer, he opened the third dresser drawer and pulled a tank top out and slid it on. Good enough. He didn't plan on going anywhere today. The echo of pans clattering against steel issued from downstairs. Did mom even know how to cook? he pondered. Opening the door, he zipped up his shorts and buttoned them as he headed down the stairs. Rounding into the kitchen, he saw his mom standing in an apron and using their stove for the first time.

Devi laid on her bed listening to her uncle and Aunt fight like normal. She looked out the window since she had just gotten an hour of sleep before the nightmares of her parents deaths kicked in. She sighs and curls up while trying to go back to sleep.

"Mom, what are you doing?" The blonde haired woman turned to Sean, "I'm making breakfast." Sean grinned, "But you don't know how to cook." Sean's mom dropped her mouth. "I do to know how to cook. I just never have." Playing around with his mom, "Yeah right!" She laughed and turned back to the stove. Sean looked into the living room and saw his dad sitting on the couch. Okay, he's supposed to be at work. He was confused and headed towards the door. What's going on? Opening the door, he walked out onto the front porch. Looking back and forth down his block, he noticed many of his neighbors were home as well. "Um, okay. Weird." Grabbing the rail with his bottom hands, he leaned against the banister and crossed his top arms. There is no way everyone just happened to have the same day off. And he didn't know of any holiday that would cause everyone on his block to have the day off. Actually, he didn't know of any holiday in the middle of summer that even hinted at the chance.

Devi blinks still hearing her aunt and uncle fight even though her aunt was suppose to be at work. She got up and opened her window and went out on the porch roof while looking around noticing the other people where home too. She shrugs it off and just sits on the roof looking up at the sky.

Breathing deeply in, he let out a hard breath through his nostrils, small flames followed the air out. He spotted a girl up on a roof staring at the sky. No school today? Or does she go to school? Weirdly, he didn't remembering seeing her around. She lived across from him! How could he not? Backing up, he sat down on his moms wicker chair. He could hear the television playing through the window. His dad sure was playing lazy today. His mom was being weird too. It was like she was conforming into a housewife! Standing up, he looked around the yard for something to do. The grass needed cutting. Maybe he would do that today. He was the only one who did anything around this house. He usually did the cooking, cleaning, and everything else. Ever since he graduated, his mom took more advantage of that. And he's only been out for a few months!

Devi sighs and stands back up and goes back into her room. She left her window opened as she turned on her music and turned it up blasting Within Temptation. She then changed out of the larg shirt that was her pjs and into jeans and a black tanktop with a jean jacket on. She then went back out to the roof and laid on it listening to the music with her eyes closed. She hardly noticed anything aside from the change of songs.

Standing up, he walked off the porch and onto the yard. No bother using the walkway. Glancing around the house, he searched for the lawn mower. "Um...where did I leave it?" He walked to the side of the house and looked around. It was no where to be seen. Heading back to the front of the house, he noticed a rather peculiar black SUV riding down his block heading in his direction. He stopped and watched as it passed by his house at a rather slow speed. The man driving had a bald head and wore black tinted sunglasses. And stared Sean down as he passed by. "What the..." Motionless, he continued to watch the SUV cruise down the road and turn at the stop sign. "Okay...something's not right." Walking out to the road, he looked up and down the road. It seemed no one else but him noticed the strange vehicle. "Wierd."

Devi heard the vehicle but didn't do anything about it since she just figured it as someone leaving for something. She sighs and gets up walking to the edge of the roof looking down at the grass and roll her eyes before starting to climb down the rope ladder that was there. Once on the ground she turned and started for the road to either go someplace or see what there was to do during the day. She kept her hands in her jeans pockets as she started to walk down the middle of the road. She hummed softly while walking and looking up at the sky, seeming like she wasn't paying attention when she was.

"Whatever." He turned and looked at his house. Thinking for a short moment, he decided not to go back inside. Maybe a little walk will help clear things up. Turning on the ball of his foot, he headed in off down the sidewalk. He forgot to put his shoes on, but he wasn't worried about that. Coming up to the stop sign, he looked about. Hey, that's the girl that was on the roof. He watched her for a second then turned his attention back in front of him, a little ashamed for staring. He continued on for a few more yards then stopped. Where to go?

Devi pauses while glanceing around, she had sensed someone looking at her and she turned looking at the guy on the sidewalk with her near perfect mix of bluegreen eyes. She turned and started walking again heading for a park where she normally spent most of her nights.
When she reached the park she sat on a swing and looked at her hands that had some flames dancing on them. She sighs and mutters "never happens when I need it to." She watched the small flames while sitting there. The flames never seemed to burn her clothes but thats because after a few out breaks as a child her Aunt had fireproofed everything in the house, inculding clothes. Her eyes clouded over with memories of the frist fre she was in, and the one her parents died in.

He watched the girl drift into the park. From the corner of his eyes, he saw the flames around her hand(s?). Another pyrokinetic. That makes two that he knew of. Himself and her. Walking on pass the park, Sean searched for something to do. What about finding out what was going on? "Nah." What he really wanted to do was go talk to that girl, but he figured that was his hormones kicking in. Sighing, he walked over to a tree and lowered himself down beside it. He could see the girl from where he was sitting. "Bah, focus Sean." he told himself. He crossed all four of his arms in front of him (the bottom ones crossed and the top ones crossed). Humming softly, he laid his head back against the tree trunk. His eyes veered off to the girl every couple of minutes. He did this discreetly though. Couldn't risk being caught by her. No. As much of a jock he looked, he was still shy.

Devi sighs and once noticing that the guy could see her hands she hid them again. She looked down at her feet and asks just loud enough for him to hear "what are you humming?" She could hear him sense her hearing normally was the first to come when she got nervous.

Glancing over to the girl quickly, he stopped his humming. Crap. "It's just something off the top of my head. No idea what it is." He nervously breathed in and out, small fume of smoke escaped him. Momentarily, he held his breath and looked at her. Um...think, Sean! Why were girls so hard for him? They always seemed impossible. His one weakness as his mom always put it. Or was it that he was too kind at heart. Shrugging the thought off, he focused his attention back to the girl.

Devi nods and says "it has a nice tune." She blinks seeing the small fume and asks "Are you pyrokinetic too?" She slowly started to move the swing back and forth and says "Sorry you don't have to answer that question if you don't want to." She looked at the ground trying hard to force her nervousness away. She didn't deal with people much since she normally hid in her room until everyone went to bed before leaving to wonder around town. Whenever she met another human she always got nervous and got away before changing into a cat.
